Hector, you sat like a champ!
I worked up to this piece by doing 4 exercises of color tattoos on fake skin with the final one posted here, two color studies with colored pencils and an infinite amount of time practicing color transitions and packing. It gave me a better understanding of the basics of color tattooing but I still have some ways to go.
The convention was definitely a test of artistic abilities and logistics problem solving (@fedex @fedexoffice I still haven't received the package...)
The artists and the work I saw this past weekend have solidified the way I want to approach tattooing.
I was left speechless by the work I was fortunate to witness.
